Full Stack Engineer

Description

At Xtremax, we design, build, and maintain mission-critical digital platforms and software solutions for enterprise and public sector organisations. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Full Stack Engineer (Consultant) to join our product engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying modern, high-performance web applications and digital tools supporting education and public sector stakeholders. You will build responsive frontend interfaces, implement robust backend microservices and APIs, streamline workflow automation, and maintain secure DevOps pipelines across the full software engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain modern web applications used by schools and MOE stakeholders; translate user requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Frontend Engineering: Develop responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js); build reusable UI component libraries and optimize application speed, accessibility, and user experience.
• Backend & API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and core business logic; implement authentication, authorisation, and role-based access control (RBAC); integrate backend services with relational databases and external systems.
• Data Modelling & Workflow Automation: Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data workflows; build features that enhance operational task management, reporting, and data integrity.
• DevOps, Security & Quality Assurance: Implement automated testing (unit/integration) and secure coding standards; support CI/CD release pipelines, containerisation, application monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with product managers, UX designers, and agency stakeholders to validate requirements, prototype features, and deliver iterative software enhancements in an Agile setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in full stack software development delivering enterprise web applications.
• Strong programming proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Proven experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Solid backend development experience using Node.js, Python, Java, .NET Core / C#, or Go.
• Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server) including data modelling and query tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and containerisation (Docker).
• Good knowledge of secure application design, web security standards, and RESTful API architecture.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional team collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum environments.
