STEERSMAN

Duties & Responsibilities

• Boat navigation
• Maintain and upkeep the condition of the vessel under your charge
• Maintain government-issued certifications as required
• Lower and man lifeboats when emergencies occur
• Stand by wheels when ships are on automatic pilot and verify accuracy of courses using magnetic compasses
• Steer ships under the direction of commanders or navigation officers or direct helmsmen to steer, following designated courses
• Take instructions from Management (and Client) and to inform office of any problems arising during daily operations
• Any other responsibilities as instructed by the Management
• Able to do shift work

Requirement

• MPA Helmsman /Steersman (Port Limit) / MPA SR license or equivalent
• Pass an approved eyesight test
• Must have at least 1year launch boat experience
• Able to work long hours
