Job Summary
Energi Tranz Pte Ltd is a Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transition services compaay seeking a motivated and hands-on Mechanical Engineer / Technical Officer to join our Engineering team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting energy efficiency audits and ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimisation of Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) and Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems across the facilities. This role suits candidates with a good technical foundation who are keen to contribute to sustainability and energy management initiatives. Full time , Part Time or Hybrid arrangement are possible.
Key Responsibilities
● Plan, conduct, and document energy efficiency audits on HVAC/ACMV systems and building mechanical services in accordance with Singapore's energy conservation regulations (e.g. NEA/BCA guidelines) and internal standards.
● Perform Assets Inventory Stock Taking of major energy consuming equipment and systems for Energy Efficiency Opportunity Assessment (EEOA) studies.
● Identify energy-saving opportunities, perform energy consumption analysis, and recommend cost-effective retrofit or optimisation measures.
● Prepare energy audit reports, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed energy efficiency improvements.
● Oversee the preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of ACMV systems, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), cooling towers, and associated mechanical equipment.
● Schedule and supervise maintenance contractors and technicians, ensuring works are carried out safely, on time, and to specification.
● Monitor system performance using Building Management System (BMS) data and troubleshoot mechanical/HVAC faults to minimise downtime.
● Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, codes of practice, and safety regulations (e.g. Singapore Standards, NEA, BCA, MOM WSH guidelines).
● Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment inventories, and audit documentation for regulatory submission and internal reporting.
● Support tendering, procurement, and evaluation of mechanical/HVAC service contracts and equipment upgrades.
● Assist in the implementation of green building and sustainability initiatives, including Green Mark certification requirements where applicable.
● Liaise with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on technical and compliance matters.
Requirements
Education
● Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field from a recognised university; OR
● Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field from a recognised Polytechnic.
Experience
● Minimum 2–5 years of relevant working experience in energy efficiency auditing and/or maintenance of HVAC/ACMV systems (exact years to be adjusted based on seniority of role).
● Prior experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional building environments is an advantage.
● Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy monitoring tools is preferred.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
● Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) or equivalent certification.
● Singapore Certified Energy Auditor (SCEA) or similar qualification.
● Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
● Sound technical knowledge of HVAC/ACMV system design, operation, and maintenance practices.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret energy data and identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
● Familiarity with Singapore's energy and building regulations (e.g. NEA Energy Conservation Act, BCA Green Mark scheme).
● Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of CAD or BMS software is an advantage.
● Good communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to liaise across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
● Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond to urgent maintenance issues when required.
