Bartender

Role Purpose

As a Bartender at Mama Shelter, you’re not just making drinks and you bring the energy behind the bar.

You know your way around a bar, can prepare cocktails confidently and handle a busy service without needing to be taught the basics. Just as importantly, you’re outgoing, engaging and know how to chat, recommend and create a great vibe for our guests.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks confidently and consistently.
• Welcome and engage guests with energy, warmth and personality.
• Follow Mama’s recipes, presentation and service standards.
• Recommend drinks and confidently answer guest questions.
• Bring personality and a little showmanship while keeping service fast and smooth.
• Set up, stock and maintain a clean, organised and service-ready bar.
• Handle multiple orders while maintaining speed, quality and attention to detail.
• Follow responsible alcohol service, hygiene and safety standards.
• Work closely with the F&B team and jump in wherever needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Bartending experience is required.
• Confident with classic cocktails, spirits, wines and beers.
• Able to handle bar service without needing to be taught the fundamentals.
• Friendly, outgoing and naturally comfortable engaging with guests.
• Fast, organised and calm in a busy, high-energy environment.
• Good understanding of bar setup, stock handling, cleanliness and closing procedures.
• Dependable, flexible and a strong team player.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
