Job Purpose

The Part-Time Trainer supports the Centre for Psychosocial Resilience and Humanitarian Studies (CPRHS) in the delivery of high-quality training programmes in psychosocial resilience, psychological first aid, caregiving and other relevant humanitarian learning areas.

The role is responsible for facilitating engaging and effective learning experiences, maintaining professional training standards, and contributing practitioner and learner insights to support the continuous improvement of CPRHS programmes.

Job Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Deliver assigned courses, workshops and learning programmes in accordance with approved curriculum and training standards.
  • Facilitate engaging and learner-centred sessions using appropriate adult learning methodologies.
  • Adapt facilitation approaches to different learner profiles while maintaining programme objectives and standards.
  • Facilitate practical activities, discussions and assessments where required.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and professional learning environment, particularly when facilitating sensitive psychosocial topics.

Training Quality & Programme Support

  • Maintain consistent standards of training delivery and learner experience.
  • Review learner feedback and incorporate relevant improvements into subsequent training.
  • Provide trainer and practitioner input to support the review, customisation and improvement of learning materials and activities.
  • Participate in trainer briefings, calibration and professional development activities as required.
  • Maintain relevant trainer qualifications and certifications.

Other Duties

  • Complete required attendance, assessment and post-course documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure readiness of training materials and resources for assigned sessions.
  • Highlight learner, programme or delivery issues to the Centre team for follow-up.
  • Support and facilitate Centre events, outreach and advocacy initiatives, representing the Centre professionally when engaging participants, partners and members of the public.

Requirements

  • Relevant background in psychology, healthcare, nursing, social services, counselling, education, humanitarian work or related disciplines.

  • Relevant adult education/training qualification (e.g. ACTA/ACLP) is required.

  • Prior training or facilitation experience is preferred.

  • Experience in psychosocial support, psychological first aid, caregiving or related areas would be advantageous.

  • Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to facilitate sensitive topics with maturity, empathy and appropriate professional boundaries.

  • Able to work regularly from Friday to Sunday, including at external training venues where required.
