Head of Trade Finance & Loan

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Branch’s daily trade finance and loan operations.
• Review and approve trade finance and loan transactions in the system, including the examination of documents presented under documentary credits.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on operational matters.
• Monitor operational performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs)and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Perform daily reconciliations, prepare management reports, and implement other internal control measures.
• Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure operational and regulatory requirements are met.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen risk management and controls.
• Lead or participate in assigned projects, business initiatives, and business continuity exercises.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to staff to strengthen their technical expertise in trade finance and loan operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in trade finance and loan operations, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Sound knowledge of documentary credits, documentary collections, guarantees, and international trade finance rules and practices, including UCP, URC, URDG, ISP, and ISBP.
• Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
• Strong risk management and control mindset, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin, enabling effective communication with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including Taiwan Head Office.
