PMO Lead (Contract)
We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to drive programme governance and oversee the successful delivery of multiple technology initiatives within a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate independently, provide recommendations to senior stakeholders, and ensure programmes are delivered effectively through strong governance and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PMO governance across multiple projects and programmes, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives.
- Oversee programme planning, execution, project health, risks, dependencies and resource allocation across the portfolio.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve PMO governance frameworks, standards, methodologies and best practices.
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into structured project plans and delivery roadmaps.
- Drive executive reporting, portfolio dashboards and governance forums for senior management.
- Identify programme risks, issues and dependencies, providing proactive mitigation plans and recommendations.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings and provide regular updates to senior leadership on programme progress and key decisions.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, technical teams and vendors to ensure successful programme delivery.
- Mentor and guide Project Managers and PMO team members while promoting governance, accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Project Management, Programme Management or PMO, with at least 3 years in a PMO Lead, Programme Manager or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and enterprise-wide programmes.
- Strong experience in programme governance, portfolio management, project delivery, risk management and executive reporting.
- Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into structured delivery plans.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior business and technology leaders.
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to influence decisions and drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum certifications will be an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in enterprise IT, digital transformation or application delivery programmes.
- Experience working with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, external vendors and enterprise stakeholders.
