Operations & Maintenance leader

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance leader to oversee the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of critical airport systems supporting Changi Airport operations.

The role will lead engineering and operations teams, manage contractors and OEMs, and work closely with airport stakeholders to ensure high system availability, operational continuity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of airport automated and specialised systems.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Monitor system availability, reliability, downtime and maintenance KPIs.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis and recovery of critical system failures.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with operational, safety and service-level requirements.
• Develop SOPs, maintenance procedures, contingency plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Engineering & Asset Management

• Provide technical leadership for automated airport and material handling systems.
• Manage asset lifecycle planning, upgrades, refurbishment and replacement programmes.
• Review technical proposals, engineering submissions, risk assessments and maintenance plans.
• Support testing, commissioning, system upgrades and operational handover.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, capacity and maintainability.

Team & Contractor Management

• Lead and develop operations, maintenance and engineering teams.
• Manage outsourced contractors, OEMs and specialist service providers.
• Monitor contractor performance against SLAs, KPIs and service standards.
• Support tendering, vendor evaluation, contract negotiations and cost optimisation.

Project & Budget Management

• Manage O&M budgets, maintenance contracts, spare parts and asset replacement programmes.
• Lead or support improvement, upgrade and replacement projects from planning through commissioning.
• Ensure projects and maintenance activities are delivered safely, within budget and according to schedule.

Stakeholder & Compliance Management

• Work closely with airport operations, engineering, facilities and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations, airport requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, OEMs and external service partners.
• Drive a strong safety, reliability and continuous-improvement culture.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or related Engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, engineering or automated systems.
• Strong experience in airport, baggage handling, material handling, transportation or other mission-critical systems.
• Proven experience managing operations, maintenance teams, contractors and OEMs.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, asset management, troubleshooting and system reliability.
• Experience in project management, testing & commissioning, budgeting and contract management.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Singapore safety and regulatory requirements.
