- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses and interpret investment metrics to support the assessment of project economics and transaction returns.
- Conduct quality checks on model inputs and outputs, identify inconsistencies, and work with senior team members to refine assumptions and analytical conclusions.
- Assess project and transaction risks across technologies, geographies and revenue structures, and support the development of appropriate mitigants.
- Apply knowledge of financial statements, accounting, tax and business structures to support valuation and transaction analysis.
Transaction Execution and Due Diligence
- Own defined workstreams across the M&A transaction lifecycle, including due diligence coordination, transaction planning, internal approval preparation and closing readiness.
- Coordinate due diligence inputs across relevant departments, maintain issue trackers, analyse findings and clearly summarise key financial and commercial implications.
- Prepare high-quality investment materials, including investment memoranda, teasers, transaction analyses and management presentations.
- Support negotiations and transaction documentation by providing financial analysis, benchmarking, issue summaries and tracking of agreed positions and actions.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure deliverables are accurate, complete and progressed in line with transaction timelines.
Renewable Energy Market and Commercial Analysis
- Research and analyse market, regulatory and macroeconomic developments affecting renewable energy investments and business models in APAC.
- Evaluate revenue models, including PPA structures, merchant exposure, curtailment, basis, profile and contracted revenue risks, and assess their impact on valuation and returns.
- Develop an understanding of renewable energy business models across different geographies, technologies and commercial structures.
- Partner with Energy Management, commercial, technical, legal, finance, tax, accounting and other teams to incorporate relevant inputs into investment analysis.
Stakeholder Management and Internal Approvals
- Coordinate inputs from relevant departments to support investment approvals and transaction milestones.
- Present financial analysis, key assumptions, risks and conclusions in a clear and structured manner to senior team members and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare meeting materials, document decisions and actions, and follow through to maintain progress across assigned workstreams.
- Escalate material issues, information gaps or timeline risks promptly to the relevant project lead.
Process Improvement and Team Contribution
- Identify practical opportunities to improve valuation tools, templates, data quality and internal workflows.
- Support the implementation of process improvement and digitalisation initiatives across investment and M&A activities.
- Share knowledge and contribute constructively to team reviews, model checks and transaction retrospectives.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in investments, M&A, corporate finance, project finance, infrastructure, renewables, energy or another transaction-focused environment.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, including the ability to build and maintain models, test assumptions, interpret outputs and explain conclusions.
- Sound understanding of financial statements, accounting, tax and commercial structures relevant to investment and M&A transactions.
- Experience supporting due diligence, transaction analysis, investment materials or internal approval processes.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, revenue models, PPA structures and investment risk factors would be advantageous.
- Ability to assess investment opportunities through a commercial and risk-return lens and distinguish material issues from supporting detail.
- Sound judgement in identifying analytical gaps, transaction risks and potential mitigants, with appropriate escalation to senior team members.
- Ability to learn and apply business models across different geographies, technologies and market structures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and transaction-related matters to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage deliverables in complex, time-sensitive processes.
- Professional and confident when working with external advisors, transaction counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical, structured and detail-oriented, with strong ownership of assigned deliverables.
- Commercially curious, proactive and willing to challenge assumptions constructively.
- Comfortable working independently on defined workstreams while collaborating closely with the wider team.
- Able to manage competing priorities, respond to changing transaction needs and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
When you join EDP APAC, you will have access to:
