Assistant Accountant

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join an established real estate group with a presence across multiple markets. The role will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions of assigned entities, while also contributing to the Group’s sustainability and ESG initiatives.
The ideal candidate is organised, hands-on and comfortable managing multiple priorities while working towards tight reporting deadlines. This is also an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond traditional accounting into sustainability reporting and ESG-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of entities, covering General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets.
- Handle monthly intercompany accounting, reconciliation and settlement.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances, movements and fixed deposit activities.
- Assist with corporate tax computations and ensure all relevant tax filing obligations are met within the required timelines.
- Prepare and file quarterly GST returns in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Support the external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and statutory financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly financial and management reports in compliance with applicable IFRS requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans for assigned entities.
- Provide support on other accounting, finance and administrative matters as required.
Sustainability & ESG
- Assist with sustainability reporting, internal and external assurance processes, and other related reporting activities.
- Gather, consolidate and review data relating to the Group’s environmental, social and governance performance.
- Assist in ensuring sustainability disclosures are aligned with relevant regulations, standards and reporting frameworks.
- Support the execution of sustainability-related projects, initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of ESG data collection and reporting processes.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline, and/or a recognised professional accounting qualification.
- Sound understanding of financial reporting standards, taxation, GST and applicable regulatory requirements.
- At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to full-set accounting and financial reporting.
- Prior experience within the real estate or property sector will be advantageous.
- Genuine interest in sustainability and ESG matters, with a willingness to build knowledge in sustainability reporting and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
