About this job
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end operational execution of physical and paper commodity trading transactions, including trade entry, contract execution, invoicing, settlement and reconciliation.
- Manage the operational execution of physical commodities, including oil & gas, petrochemicals and other energy or commodity products, such as LPG. This includes cargo and vessel nominations, voyage instructions, terminal coordination, and monitoring of cargo and vessel movements.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, terminals, vessels, inspectors, agents and internal teams to ensure the smooth and timely execution of trades.
- Review invoices, contracts and supporting documents; coordinate trade settlement and payment/receipt arrangements; and follow up on outstanding items, discrepancies and claims.
- Perform supplier and customer reconciliations and maintain accurate and complete trade, settlement and operational records.
- Ensure operational and settlement activities are carried out in accordance with contractual requirements, company policies and internal control procedures.
- Provide traders with timely operational information and support in relation to trade execution, logistics and other business matters.
- Perform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as reasonably assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in commodity trading operations, trade settlement, physical operations or a related field, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy or commodities trading industry.
- Hands-on experience in the operational execution of physical commodities, particularly oil & gas, petrochemicals, LPG or other energy products, will be an advantage.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational, coordination and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity and teamwork, with a professional and collaborative approach to work.
- Excellent command of English and Chinese languages (as the position needs to frequently communicate with English/Chinese speaking stakeholders verbally/ in writing as well as to prepare and proof-read English/Chinese official documents and presentations whenever appropriate).
