Assistant Manager, Trade Pricing (Global Shipping Carrier)

Job Scope:

The individual will play a crucial part in managing pricing strategies, analysing market trends, and supporting the optimization of trade services to drive profitability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and synthesize information on trade regulations, tariffs, and market dynamics while performing competitor analysis and assisting in forecasting.
• Monitor and optimize trade performance by analysing P&L trends and providing insights for strategic decision-making.
• Develop and manage pricing strategies, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing across the specific trade lane assigned.
• Oversee the daily pricing process, including the development of rate structures and application of surcharges.
• Implement yield management tactics to ensure an optimal cargo mix.
• Develop trade forecasts through analysing the market.
• Work closely with stakeholders on trade and growth plans to ensure operational efficiencies.
• Monitor shipping operations performance indicators and provide recommendations for enhancements.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
• More than 4 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in pricing/yield management.
• Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
