Product Quote Executive (Manufacturing Costing)
About this job
Manage Request for Quotation (RFQ) activities and prepare accurate and competitive quotations within required timelines.
Review customer requirements, Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings and technical specifications for product costing.
Analyse material, labour, manufacturing, tooling, packaging, logistics and other relevant costs to develop accurate cost estimates.
Evaluate supplier quotations based on pricing, order quantity, lead time, tooling and other commercial considerations.
Perform product cost, selling price, margin, annual volume and price-break analysis to support competitive and profitable quotations.
Coordinate costing inputs with Sales, Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and other cross-functional teams.
Support quotation activities for new product introduction, prototypes and other manufacturing requirements.
Identify key cost drivers and work with relevant teams on cost reduction, alternative materials/processes and value-engineering opportunities.
Maintain accurate quotation records, costing assumptions, historical pricing and supporting documentation.
Support continuous improvement, digitalisation and automation initiatives to improve quotation accuracy, efficiency and turnaround time.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in product costing, quotation/RFQ, sourcing, engineering, supply chain or manufacturing is preferred.
Good understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including material, labour, manufacturing processes, tooling and logistics costs.
Able to read and interpret BOMs, engineering drawings and technical specifications for costing purposes.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, machining, surface finishing, mechanical/electrical assembly or system integration would be an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, PivotTables and data analysis.
Familiarity with ERP, quotation or costing systems such as SAP, Agile or equivalent would be an advantage.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
Able to manage multiple RFQs and priorities within required timelines.
Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
