Job Description
Oversee and coordinate daily sheet metal production activities across NCT turret punching, laser cutting, welding/riveting, polishing/finishing and related processes.
Plan and allocate manpower across production processes to achieve daily output, quality and delivery targets.
Coordinate material flow across sequential manufacturing processes to ensure smooth and efficient production.
Optimize NCT turret punching and laser cutting operations, including tool selection, turret layout, hit sequence and process parameters.
Establish and maintain process standards and quality requirements for flattening, polishing, welding and riveting operations.
Troubleshoot production and technical issues, including sheet metal warping, welding distortion and riveting misalignment.
Ensure finished parts meet dimensional, surface finish and structural quality requirements.
Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce material scrap and minimize production downtime.
Work closely with Process Improvement Engineering and other cross-functional teams on DFM, process improvement and manufacturability.
Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and operators on production processes and troubleshooting.
Support overtime or urgent production requirements when necessary.
Job Requirements
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing, preferably with exposure to production supervision or team leadership.
Strong hands-on knowledge of NCT turret punching and laser cutting processes, including programming and tooling.
Good knowledge of sheet metal joining processes such as TIG/MIG/spot welding and auto-riveting.
Familiar with polishing, surface finishing and precision flattening processes.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM or sheet metal programming software such as AP100, Dr.ABE, or equivalent.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with production and cross-functional teams.
Able to support overtime when required based on operational needs.
