Our client is a multinational organisation with a significant international footprint and is seeking a Global Tax Director to lead its global tax function.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, prior Big 4 tax background and more than 12 years of relevant experience in the commercial sector
- Experience in both direct and indirect tax, including compliance, advisory, transfer pricing, M&A tax as well as working with the Treasury team on cash repatriation matters
- Knowledge of BEPS Pillar 2
- Experience in managing complex cross-border tax and tax treaties
- Industry Exposure: Logistics/ Supply Chain, or related business with leasing model
- Driven, proactive, flexible, ability to work in a lean and fast paced environment, strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Job Scope
Reporting to senior leadership, this role will be responsible for shaping tax strategy, governance, compliance and risk management across the business. As the organisation's key tax advisor, you will partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Commercial and regional teams to provide practical guidance on business initiatives, operating structures, financing arrangements and complex cross-border transactions. The position requires ownership of transfer pricing matters, international tax developments, tax treaty considerations and the implementation of evolving global tax regulations, including BEPS Pillar Two requirements.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of direct and indirect taxation across a diverse international footprint while driving a robust and consistent tax governance framework. Key responsibilities include managing tax compliance and reporting obligations, leading tax audits and disputes, maintaining transfer pricing policies and documentation, supporting mergers and acquisitions, restructuring projects and market expansion initiatives, and advising on tax-efficient financing and cash repatriation strategies. This individual will also play a critical role in ensuring tax considerations are embedded early in commercial and strategic decision-making, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and enhance visibility over tax exposures across the group.
