Job Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the delivery of quality early intervention and inclusive preschool services by leading intervention programmes, monitoring children's developmental progress, supporting educators, and partnering with families and stakeholders. The role works closely with the Centre Manager to drive programme quality, operational excellence, and family-centred practices.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and review of individual and group intervention programmes.
  • Monitor children's progress and oversee case reviews, reports, and multidisciplinary discussions.
  • Drive improvements in intervention practices, classroom management, curriculum implementation, and assistive technology.
  • Work with the Manager and Senior Teachers to enhance programme effectiveness and achieve service KPIs.

Centre Operations

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for children.
  • Maintain compliance with child safety, health, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements.

Family & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support parent engagement and address enquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Promote family-centred practices to support children's developmental outcomes.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Support the Manager in achieving centre goals and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Early Intervention (EI) Educators.
  • Foster collaboration across early intervention and preschool settings.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Early Childhood, Special Needs Education, Psychology, Human Services, or related fields.
  • NIEC Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Early Childhood, preferably in an Early Intervention setting.
  • Qualified EI Educator with experience supervising and mentoring educators.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Canva.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and committed to high standards of care and education.
