About this job
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English and/or Mathematics lessons for Primary and Secondary students.
- Teach according to the school’s curriculum, syllabus, and learning objectives.
- Develop appropriate lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Monitor and assess students’ academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students’ learning needs and provide appropriate support and guidance.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Encourage students to participate actively in lessons and develop independent learning skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students’ learning progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, performance, and academic development.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development programmes, and other duties assigned by the school.
Requirements
- A-Level qualification with a strong grade in English-related subjects, such as English Language, English Literature, or General Paper (GP), or A-Level Mathematics with a strong grade, may be considered. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in English, Mathematics, Education, or a related field will also be considered. Relevant teaching experience and strong subject knowledge are required.
- Relevant teaching qualification and/or teaching experience will be an advantage.
- Experience teaching Primary and/or Secondary school students.
- Good knowledge of the relevant English or Mathematics curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passionate about teaching and committed to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Skills
- Experience preparing students for examinations and academic assessments.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit students of different abilities and learning needs.
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Patient, responsible, enthusiastic, and student-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting students’ academic development, maintaining effective classroom management, and contributing positively to the overall learning environment of the school.
