Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Asia Equity securities lending trader to support the growth of our APAC synthetic prime brokerage and delta one business. The role will focus on short covering and all related post trade life cycle, inventory management, operational build-out, and platform scalability across Asia equity markets.
Process Build-Out & Automation
Build and enhance scalable front-to-back operational processes supporting Asia equity short covering and securities lending activities.
Manage day to day short covering in Asia equity markets through stock loan transactions
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements across trading, booking, inventory management, and post trade lift cycle processes.
Partner closely with global and regional resources in Operations, Technology, Middle Office, Finance, and Risk teams to create SBL daily processes and reduce operational risk.
Participate in the design and implementation of automated workflows for locate management, inventory distribution, financing calculations, corporate action processing, reconciliation controls, and client reporting.
Ensure operational processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with internal governance standards and regulatory expectations.
Work closely with regional teams in London, New York, and Asia to align operational models, inventory workflows, financing processes, and system architecture across global equity finance platforms.
Familiarity with existing available securities lending platform and triparty platform.
Support rollout of global platform enhancements and connectivity initiatives across APAC markets.
Help design scalable controls supporting increasing trading volumes and synthetic PB business expansion.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Strong understanding of securities lending, synthetic prime brokerage, equity finance, front-to-back trade lifecycle, and operational controls.
Minimum 3 years experience in covering securities lending in Asia equity markets
Highly process-oriented mindset with ability to improve and automate workflows.
Understanding of Asia market specific rules including DM and EM markets.
Strong proficiency in Excel, VBA, Python, SQL, automation tools, and data analysis platforms.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, build-out environment with evolving infrastructure.
Ability to build automated spreadsheets, inventory management tools, reporting dashboards, reconciliation trackers, financing calculators, and operational control frameworks.
Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate across trading, operations, technology, and global stakeholders.
