EMT (Non-Emergency)

About the role

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a healthcare professional who provides emergency medical care to patients in emergency and non-emergency situations, often as part of an ambulance crew. They respond to emergency calls, assess patients' conditions, and provide medical interventions like administering oxygen or IV fluids while transporting patients to a hospital. EMTs are trained to handle a wide range of emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Medical Response

• Crew Leader of Medical Transport Ambulance or EMT for Emergency Ambulance, supporting the Paramedic 

• Respond promptly to calls and provide immediate medical assistance at the scene 

• Assess the condition of patients who are injured or ill and determine the appropriate level of care required. 

• Administer pre-hospital treatment for stable patients. 

• Assist Paramedic in pre-hospital treatment for unstable patients 

• Ensure the safe and timely transfer of patients to hospitals or healthcare facilities (eg. Dialysis Centre) 

• Provide Medical Coverage for High-Risk Events 

• Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and other relevant details for medical records.  Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and transport activities 
  

2. Operations

• Able to operate all medical equipment in the ambulance safely and effectively. 

• Perform routine checks and maintenance of ambulance equipment to ensure readiness at all times. 
  

Requirements & Qualifications 

• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 

• Certification of BCLS & AED 

• Relevant field experience in SAF or SCDF is an added advantage 

• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent customer service. 

• Ability to adapt, solve problems, and work effectively under pressure. 

• Willingness to work flexible hours with benefits provided for extra hours worked. 

• Full vaccination against COVID-19 due to the high-risk nature of the position.
