Job Summary
You will manage quantity surveying activities from pre-tender to post-contract stages, ensuring accurate cost estimation, contract administration, and timely certification of payments for construction projects including R&R, A&A, and paint works.
Responsibilities
- Calculate quantities and prepare pricing for tender submissions across various project types, including R&R, A&A, and paint projects
- Source and evaluate sub-contractors and suppliers to support project cost management
- Analyze price comparisons and prepare detailed costing summaries to inform decision-making
- Administer project documentation including interim valuations, contract variation pricing and agreements, claim submissions, and final accounts preparation
- Perform site measurements to verify quantities and support accurate cost control
- Evaluate and certify sub-contractor progress payments to ensure compliance with contract terms
- Manage contract documentation and support contract administration throughout project lifecycle
- Collaborate with Project Managers by attending meetings and providing contract-related assistance
- Prepare and submit monthly progress claims and variation work claims to clients
- Close final accounts for completed projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with clients, consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, developers, and contractors to resolve certificate of claims for payments
- Monitor progress claim status and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely payments
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction, or relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience in civil or building construction projects, including variation works such as A&A and R&R projects
- Proven track record of successful project implementation in the construction industry
- Proficiency in interpreting construction technical drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
