Job Summary

International Secondary School Teacher – Mathematics & Additional Mathematics

The Secondary School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Mathematics and Additional Mathematics instruction to secondary school students following the Cambridge curriculum. The role requires strong subject expertise, particularly in preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics examinations, while developing students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Cambridge Mathematics and Additional Mathematics curriculum to secondary school students through engaging, structured and differentiated lessons.
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that develop students' conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Teach Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, where applicable, and prepare students effectively for external examinations.
• Develop students' ability to apply mathematical concepts to complex and unfamiliar problems.
• Adapt teaching strategies, resources and assessments to meet different learning abilities and attainment levels.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, school activities and other duties assigned by the school.

Required competencies and certifications

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS, PGCE with appropriate teaching status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Possess a degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education with Mathematics specialisation or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach both Mathematics and Additional Mathematics at secondary school level.
• Possess the ability to teach advanced mathematical concepts, including algebra, functions, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, calculus and other relevant Additional Mathematics topics.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
