Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities in a precision engineering environment involving CNC milling, CNC turning, and autolathe machining. The role ensures production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are met while leading and supporting shop floor operators and technicians.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations

• Supervise daily production activities to achieve output and delivery targets.
• Monitor machine utilization, production schedules, and manpower allocation.
• Ensure smooth workflow and resolve day-to-day production issues.
• Track production performance, output, and downtime.

2. CNC Machining Support

• Coordinate machine setups and production readiness.
• Ensure operators follow approved machining processes and work instructions.
• Assist in troubleshooting machining, tooling, and quality problems.
• Monitor machining operations to ensure productivity and efficiency.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products meet customer and quality requirements.
• Work closely with QA/QC to resolve non-conformance issues.
• Maintain accurate production records and traceability documents.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

4. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
• Help reduce scrap, rework, and machine downtime.

5. Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise operators, technicians, and production staff.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, and work performance.
• Promote teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement culture.

6. Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure machines are properly maintained and in good working condition.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.
• Escalate machine breakdowns and production interruptions promptly.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Warehouse teams.
• Support new product introduction and process implementation activities.
• Ensure materials, manpower, and machines are available to meet production requirements.

Job Requirements

Education

• NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
• At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team leader role preferred.
• Experience in CNC milling, CNC turning, or autolathe operations.

Technical Skills

• Good uderstanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Familiarity with quality inspection requirements and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems is an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
