Purchaser (Ship Supply)

RTA Ship Services Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Purchaser (Ship Supply) to join our team (near Joon Koon MRT). This full-time role will be responsible for sourcing and procuring supplies and materials required for the maintenance and operation of ships for our clients.

What you'll be doing

1. Identifying and evaluating suppliers to ensure the best quality, price and delivery of ship supplies and materials

2. Negotiating contracts and purchase orders with suppliers to secure favorable terms

3. Preparation and submission of quotation on time

4. Keeping track of order status and plan delivery accordingly

5. Managing inventory levels and replenishing stock as needed to avoid shortages

6. Investigating and managing of any dispute with customer/supplier

7. Collaborating with the operations team to ensure good delivery

8. Maintaining detailed records of all purchasing activities and expenditures

9. Continuously researching the market to identify new cost-effective suppliers and products

10. Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures (e.g. ISO9001)

11. Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry.
   

2. Candidate without experience can be considered as Trainee Purchasing Officer

3. Strong negotiation and contract management skills

4. Team player, meticulous, details-oriented

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders

6. Proficient in data analysis and record-keeping to track purchasing activities and inventory

7. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
