Network Engineer (Cisco | Firewall | Banking Infrastructure)

About the Role

Our client, a well-established Chinese Bank in Singapore, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise network infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates with strong hands-on experience in Cisco networking, firewall administration, network security, and infrastructure support within a banking or financial services environment.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the bank’s network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with Head Office security policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN and Wireless Network infrastructure.
• Configure, administer and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance, availability, utilization and capacity to ensure optimal system performance.
• Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity, routing and security-related incidents.
• Support network infrastructure across both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Implement and enforce Head Office network security policies and industry best practices.
• Manage network security technologies including firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS and access control.
• Perform network upgrades, patching and infrastructure enhancements.
• Prepare and maintain network documentation, diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in incident management, disaster recovery planning and change management activities.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security and application teams to support business projects and technology initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers where applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering or Network Infrastructure Support.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise networking environments.
• Hands-on experience with:Cisco Routers & SwitchesFirewall AdministrationVPN TechnologiesWireless Networking
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including:TCP/IPDNSDHCPVLANVPNBGPOSPFSTP
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiar with network security best practices, firewall policies and access control.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following certifications will have an advantage:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Huawei HCIA / HCIP
• Other relevant Network or Security certifications

Preferred Experience

• Candidates with banking or financial services industry experience will be highly preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure within banks, financial institutions or regulated environments will be an added advantage.
