About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Assistant Relationship Manager to support the Corporate Banking team in managing relationships with corporate clients, with a focus on commodity financing, trade finance and corporate lending.
This role offers exposure to relationship management, credit analysis, trade finance, KYC compliance and cross-border banking, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build a long-term career in Corporate Banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Relationship Managers in managing a portfolio of corporate banking clients by providing day-to-day account servicing and relationship support.
- Perform financial spreading, credit analysis and prepare credit proposals to support lending decisions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and overseas offices to facilitate credit approvals, transaction execution and client servicing.
- Respond promptly to client enquiries and assist in resolving operational and credit-related issues.
- Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD), KYC reviews and periodic account reviews in accordance with the Bank’s compliance framework and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in monitoring client documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct industry research, particularly within the commodity sector, to identify market trends and support portfolio risk assessment.
- Participate in trade finance and trade digitalisation initiatives, including process improvement and project implementation.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations and other departmental documentation.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Department Head from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant Corporate Banking experience, preferably as an Assistant Relationship Manager or Corporate Banking Associate.
- Experience in credit analysis, corporate lending, trade finance or syndicated loans will be an advantage.
- Exposure to commodity financing or commodity-related industries is preferred.
- Good understanding of KYC, AML and regulatory requirements applicable to Corporate Banking.
- Strong financial analysis and credit writing skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
