Technical Superintendent - Tanker

Our client is a ship owner and operator seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management of a fleet of tanker vessels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring vessels are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations of assigned tanker vessels.
- Monitor vessel performance, machinery reliability, and maintenance execution.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, IMO, OCIMF, and company requirements.
- Prepare and control technical budgets, repair costs, and maintenance expenditure.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise dry-docking, repairs, and major maintenance projects.
- Review vessel defects, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide timely solutions.
- Monitor PMS implementation and ensure planned maintenance activities are carried out effectively.
- Conduct vessel inspections and provide technical guidance to onboard engineering teams.
- Liaise with shipyards, equipment manufacturers, classification societies, and service providers.
- Support audits, vetting inspections, and port state control inspections.
- Drive continuous improvement in vessel technical performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure spare parts, technical procurement, and inventory management are effectively monitored.
- Participate in emergency response and technical incident investigations when required.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) as ChiefEngineer (Unlimited) preferred.
- Previous sailing experience as Chief Engineer on tanker vessels.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent within a ship management company, tanker owner, or tanker operator.
- Strong knowledge of tanker operations, vessel maintenance, and marine engineering systems.
- Familiarity with IMO, ISM Code, MARPOL, Class, and Flag State regulations.
- Ability to work effectively with vessel crews, shipyards, and external stakeholders.
