Dr Naqvi Naweed Isaak Group: Postdoctoral Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our lab to functionally characterize the beneficial microbiomes and functions towards improved drought stress tolerance in rice and Arabidopsis. The project includes extensive use of omics technologies (particularly metabolomics) for functional analyses of the plant-microbe-environment interactions and crosstalk towards microbial mitigation of abiotic stress in crop plants. In addition, the effect of dual stress (e.g blast disease and drought) on microbiomes and host physiology will be assessed too.

Requirements:

• PhD in plant biology or host-microbe interaction biology from a reputable University
• At least one first-author paper in an internationally recognized peer-reviewed journal
• Research experience in any of the following areas in plant sciences
  - Microbiomes
  - Microbe-plant-environment Interactions
  - Metabolomics analyses
  - Chemical Biology

• Research training and experience in multi-omics analyses will be an added advantage
