About this job
Seeking an operational Material Testing Engineer to manage day-to-day dynamic laboratory testing, sample prototyping, and analytical evaluation of protective sterile barrier materials. This position focuses on executing mechanical and material assessments according to international standards, upholding laboratory compliance, and delivering accurate data to internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Evaluation & Prototyping: Execute physical property tests and material assessments per global standards (such as ISO and ASTM). Produce custom structural samples and 2D/3D design prototypes for client trials.
Equipment Management & Facility Care: Maintain testing apparatus, handle tool calibrations, troubleshoot hardware issues, and maintain organized digital records.
Quality Investigations & Technical Reporting: Compile precise data summaries and analytical reports. Assist quality and production teams with root-cause investigations, CAPA resolutions, and defect analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with commercial, engineering, and supply chain teams to align testing schedules with business priorities and assist clients with material selection.
Safety & Workplace Standards: Enforce laboratory safety guidelines, manage chemical/hazardous material protocols, and uphold environmental safety compliance.
Requirements
Education: Degree or Diploma in Materials Science, Packaging Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience operating within a regulated analytical or physical testing laboratory environment.
Technical Software: Familiarity with 2D CAD drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD); working knowledge of 3D modeling tools is an added advantage.
Compliance Standards: Familiarity with medical packaging or device standards (e.g., ISO 11607, ISO 13485) and standard test methodologies.
Quality Toolkit: Exposure to statistical process tools such as Gauge R&R, SPC, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Core Competencies: Strong analytical writing, meticulous attention to detail, and a structured approach to record-keeping.
