Database Migration Architect

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Architect to lead enterprise-scale migrations of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases from on-premises environments to Azure managed database services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver end-to-end database migration architectures and strategies.
• Assess database compatibility, dependencies, sizing, performance and migration readiness.
• Execute migrations using Azure Database Migration Service and related Azure tools.
• Develop SOPs, runbooks, cutover plans, migration checklists and rollback procedures.
• Perform schema conversion, replication, data validation, reconciliation and performance tuning.
• Automate migration activities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, T-SQL or PL/SQL.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, networking and cloud teams.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of database administration and migration experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Proven experience migrating enterprise databases from on-premises environments to Azure.
• Practical experience with Azure Database Migration Service, Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Strong understanding of HA/DR, backup and recovery, replication, Always On Availability Groups, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN and database security.
• Experience in database assessment, sizing, performance tuning and migration documentation.

Preferred

• Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Landing Zones, private endpoints and hybrid connectivity.
• Knowledge of Terraform or Bicep, CI/CD and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Relevant Azure certifications such as DP-300 or AZ-305.
