Associate Scientist - R&D

Major Responsibilities

1. Stay up to date in area of expertise via industry best practices, trainings and collaborations.
2. Create/improve product prototypes through experimentation and laboratory/pilot tests
3. Establish product specifications and documentation.
4. Evaluate products' characteristics for implications on shelf life, quality and scalability.
5. Conceptualise commercial production processes for food ingredients using current or new facilities and equipment.
6. Translate lab/pilot to commercial production in compliance with requirements (e.g. regulatory) through related operations & regulatory colleagues
7. Make recommendations in the design of new manufacturing processes or modify existing equipment or processes
8. Able to conduct training and coach staff
9. Maintain laboratories cleanliness
10. Optimise/recommend lab & pilot plant capabilities in line with business objectives.

Required Skills:

1. Recognised BSc with 0-3 years in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline, and/or experience in flavour or related industry research/processing function
2. Be inquisitive, independent, open-minded, analytical & able to carry out the scientific method
3. Ability to communicate effectively, and be self-motivated
4. A commitment to maintaining company standards of quality.

Other Info:

• Working days is from Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
• Frequent Shuttle Bus from/to Office
