Healthcare Assistant

Job Summary

You will support hospital operations by safely transporting patients, medical equipment, and materials within the hospital, assisting clinical services, and maintaining hygiene and professionalism in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients between wards, departments, diagnostic centers, procedure rooms, and operating theatres using wheelchairs, stretchers, trolleys, or beds to ensure timely and safe patient movement
• Transport medical equipment, consumables, medical records, blood products, linen, and other essential items within the hospital to support clinical and operational needs
• Assist Emergency Department flow by facilitating imaging appointments, admission and discharge movements, peri-operative logistics, and urgent time-critical tasks such as blood runs
• Handle deceased patient transfers with dignity and compliance, when within the scope of duties
• Follow hospital cleaning procedures, infection control protocols, and hygiene standards consistently throughout shifts
• Use electronic devices or mobile apps to receive task assignments, update work status, and report issues promptly and accurately
• Maintain professional conduct, respecting patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Demonstrate reliability by being punctual, dependable, and committed to completing assigned duties safely and efficiently
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting light loads, and cleaning duties as required during shifts
• Carry out any other portering-related tasks assigned within the institution’s scope

• Work Location: Hospital in the East
• Shift: 7am - 7pm or 8am - 8pm (6 days work, 1 day off)
