This position is offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of three months.
About the Role:
You will join the dynamic world of Financial Markets Operations and play a critical role in supporting ING's Securities Services business across Asia. As part of a global operations organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of securities transactions, trade lifecycle events, and corporate actions across multiple Asian markets.
You will work closely with Front Office, Operations, Custodians, Market Infrastructure providers, and various stakeholders across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other Asian locations. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to navigate complex operational processes in a fast-paced international environment.
As part of a globally connected team spanning Manila, Amsterdam, and regional Asia locations, you will collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds while contributing to operational excellence, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and monitor securities transactions across multiple Asian markets, ensuring timely and accurate execution throughout the trade lifecycle.
- Investigate and resolve trade, settlement, reconciliation, and corporate action exceptions while minimizing operational and financial risk.
- Provide operational support for trade processing, settlement activities, and corporate action events across various financial instruments.
- Partner closely with Front Office, clients, custodians, counterparties, and regional stakeholders across Asia (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea) to resolve issues and deliver high-quality service.
- Manage stakeholder communications, escalations, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support automation and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with market regulations, internal policies, and operational risk requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience of relevant experience for Financial Markets/Banking Operations with specialised expertise on the product/process.
- Experience in Securities Operations, Financial Markets Operations, Trade Processing, Settlements, Corporate Actions, or Trade Support.
- Strong understanding of securities trade lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of Asian financial markets and market practices is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with global or regional stakeholders.
- Exposure to settlement platforms, custodians, and securities market infrastructure.
- Experience handling trade investigations, reconciliations, or exception management.
- Familiarity with corporate actions processing and event management.
- Knowledge of financial products including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and other securities instruments.
