Client is an expert in automation and digital systems for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, seeking to hire a yearly contract renewable Process Engineering SME / Lead - Drug Substance (mAbs) or API / Drug Substance.

Your new role

• Lead the technical development and implementation of complex manufacturing process systems within a regulated production environment.
• Convert business and project objectives into engineering requirements, technical documentation, and execution plans.
• Prepare and review project requirement documents to ensure operational, quality, safety, and compliance expectations are incorporated into the design.
• Assess and provide technical oversight on engineering deliverables, including design packages, calculations, specifications, drawings, and supplier documentation.
• Coordinate engineering activities across various project phases, from concept development through detailed execution.
• Support design reviews and technical governance processes to maintain alignment with project objectives and site standards.
• Contribute to equipment selection, supplier assessments, procurement activities, and technical evaluations.
• Participate in risk management activities and ensure technical, operational, and safety considerations are addressed during system design.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, maintainability, cost efficiency, and project execution outcomes.
• Provide engineering support to cross-functional project teams and assist in resolving technical challenges during implementation.
• Contribute to reliability planning, operational readiness, maintenance strategies, and long-term asset performance initiatives.
• Act as the primary technical resource for assigned process systems throughout project delivery and startup activities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Hands-on project experience across CAPEX / major facility engineering programs.
• Key expertise includes bioreactors, chromatography, TFF, buffer/media systems, reactors, filtration, evaporation, freeze drying, process equipment packages, URS/DQ, design reviews, vendor management, GMP/GEP, SHE and C&Q interfaces
