Senior/First Vice President (Credit)

This role will ensure smooth credit application approval and review within the Asia Pacific region, excluding Korea. This role reports to the Head Office in Korea.
Job Responsibilities
1. Review Credit Applications from APAC Branches
o Review the key information of the Borrower and the Guarantor, submitted by primary corporate banking teams.
o Review and assess company’s performance including financial analysis, industry analysis and any other related information of the Borrower, and Guarantor if applicable.
o Obtain Credit Review Committee’s approval for the Credit Applications. Archive approved credit applications in Credit Review Files.
2. Review Revisions in Credit Policy and Procedures
o Stay informed with the latest policy changes within the Bank as well as any regulatory changes from MAS or any other governing body and also, any recommendations from internal and external auditors.
o Review and approve policy changes for Credit Review Committee’s approval.
3. Review Quarterly Securities Credit Review
o On quarterly basis, review the Securities Credit Review data spreadsheet with info from the latest quarter and highlight securities which have to be reviewed for the quarter based on HQ criteria. To review the issuers' latest interim results, latest stock price and, bond credit ratings.
o To review recent events and propose action plan for the securities after discussion with the Treasury Dept.
4. Communication with Internal, External and MAS Auditors
o Support Credit department when communicating with all auditors, by providing requested documents and by responding to queries.
5. Safekeeping of Financial Statements and Certificates
o Store financial statements and certificates received from Operations Team and Agent Banks.
6. Any Other Ad-hoc Work and Projects
o Complete any other ad-hoc work and projects as assigned by the management from time to time.
o Co-supervise and co-mentor Credit Analyst in his/her daily work.
Job Requirements
o Bachelor's degree
o 10 to 15 years of relevant banking experience
o Has prior team supervisory experience
o Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and good communication skills
o Knowledge with a wide range of corporate banking products
o Knowledge of a variety of industries, especially within Asia
o Business proficiency in written and verbal English and Korean is required to communicate with Korean counterparties, Head Office, Singapore Branch and Overseas Branches. This includes reviewing, presenting and attending to queries on credit loan applications as well as Head Office's questionnaire and info request.
