Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring product and process within a precision engineering environment involving CNC machining, fabrication, and tight-tolerance components.
This role will drive quality assurance strategies, ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements, oversee inspection and metrology systems, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve customer, quality, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer-specific requirements.
- Establish and drive quality policies, objectives, and KPIs, and improvement plans aligned with business and production goals.
- Develop, review, and control SOPs, work instructions, control plans, inspection procedures, and quality standards for machining and precision-engineered components.
- Ensure audit readiness and lead internal, external, certification, and customer audits, including timely closure and effectiveness verification of audit findings.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CD&T requirements, specifications, and tight tolerance requirements to ensure accurate appropriate quality and inspection standards are applied.
- Oversee inspection planning and execution for First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final inspection to ensure product conformity.
- Manage the metrology and measurement system, including CMM, vision systems, and conventional measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, traceability, and capability of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Monitor production quality performance using SPC and other statistical tools, and analyse process capability, including Cp and Cpk, for critical machining processes.
- Drive data-based decision-making through quality dashboards, trend analysis, and regular management reporting.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, machining defects, process failures, and customer complaints using structured root cause analysis methodologies such as 5Whys and Fishbone Analysis.
- Ensure timely implementation and verification of corrective actions to eliminate recurring quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Oversee non-conformance management, including containment, disposition, scrap, rework, deviation, and concession control.
- Conduct supplier quality audits, monitor supplier performance, and drive supplier improvement initiatives where required.
- Lead quality risk management activities, including PFMEA and Control Plan development and review for critical processes and products.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield improvement, scrap, and rework reduction, process capability, and manufacturing process stability using Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and other appropriate methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Planning, and other relevant functions to improve manufacturability, process stability, and overall product quality.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the QA/QC team, including quality inspectors and engineers, ensuring competency in inspection techniques, measurement systems, quality standards, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers on quality-related matters, including customer complaints, audits, quality performance, corrective actions, and technical clarifications.
- Promote a strong quality culture across the organization by ensuring compliance with established procedures and encouraging ownership of quality at every stage of the manufacturing process.
Requirements
Singaporean Only
Education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering / Quality Assurance Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum5 years of QA/QC experience in precision engineering, CNC machining, metal manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Minimum2-3 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Hand-on experience with CNC machining processes, including milling and turning, and the manufacture of tight-tolerance components.
- Strong experience in ISO 9001 QMS implantation, maintenance, and audit management.
- Experience managing customer complaints, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality improvement projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in engineering drawing interpretation, GD&T and dimensional /tolerance requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes and common manufacturing defects, including burrs, surface finish issues, dimensional variation, tool wear, and process related defects.
- Proficiency in metrology and measurement systems, including CMM, vision systems, and measurement conventional measuring equipment.
- Strong knowledge of SPC, process capability analysis (Cp/Cpk), MSA, and statistical quality tools.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, CAPA, and non-conformance management.
- Knowledge and practical experience in PFMEA, Control Plans, risk-based thinking, and process risk management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and quality reporting or data analysis tools is an advantage.
