New Product Introduction & Sustaining Engineer

Job Summary
• This role is responsible for crafting engineering solutions by applying intermediate level of subject matter knowledge for low to moderately complex solutions. The role collaborates with project teams to produce dependable, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions in the domain of New Product Introduction and Sustaining engineering. The role involves creating and implementing test plans, validating various engineering specifications, and inspecting machinery for efficiency. The role actively contributes to timely delivery of designs and development of innovative products, techniques and tools.

Responsibilities
• Designs portions of engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for low to moderately- complex products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and development technology guidelines, while ensuring cost effectiveness.
• Participates as a member of project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners and works towards ensuring products and solutions developed are reliable, and high quality.
• Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
• Conducts inspection of performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency; identifies corrective action of problems and deficiencies.
• Optimizes concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, to further increase efficiency and quality.
• Delivers designs and other program deliverables on time and within budget.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
• Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.
• Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture.
• Develops new acceleration techniques, analytical tools and quality screens to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products.


Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
