Operations Manager (Environmental Services)

The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with an established organisation in the environmental and essential-services sector to hire an Operations Manager.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing daily field operations, including driver deployment, fleet performance, service quality and operational troubleshooting.

• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Location: West Region
• Working Hours: Mon-Fri, Office hours
• Salary Package: Up to $6,000

The Job:

• Oversee daily depot and field operations to ensure smooth and timely service delivery.
• Manage drivers and operational staff, including scheduling, attendance and performance.
• Plan daily vehicle, manpower and work allocation based on customer requirements.
• Oversee fleet utilisation, maintenance, inspections and breakdown recovery.
• Ensure operational equipment and depot facilities are properly maintained.
• Resolve service delays, site issues and customer escalations promptly.
• Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety and service-quality standards.

The Talent:

• At least 6-8 years of relevant operations experience.
• Experience in environmental services, waste management or a fleet-based industry.
• Strong experience managing drivers, frontline staff and commercial vehicles.
• Familiar with transport scheduling, fleet maintenance and manpower planning.
• Able to manage vehicle breakdowns and urgent operational issues effectively.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on, independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
