Our client is a leading MNC in the shipping industry based in town and is looking to hire a management consultant who will report to the Head of Corporate Business Planning/Business Strategy (global level). The company allows a WFH arrangement 1 day per week. This is a permanent position.

ASSISTANT MANAGER, CORPORATE BUSINESS PLANNING role

Summary: The Corporate Business Planning Team supports the CEO and senior leadership in providing analysis and strategic insight that shape investment, portfolio, and business planning decisions. You will support corporate-level projects such as evaluating M&A opportunities, as well as board-level reporting, KPI tracking, and partnering with stakeholders across the Group to strengthen the accuracy and rigour of our corporate planning process.

Role and Responsibilities:

Board Reporting & CEO Office Deliverables

• Prepare board reporting analysis, including long-term cash flow projections and other analysis where required.

• Consolidate board reporting papers in line with reporting timelines.

• Annual town hall materials preparation and consolidation.

• Execute ad-hoc special projects to enhance reporting accuracy and improve the quality of management insights.

Investment and Business Planning

• Build and assess financial models, and related investment analysis, for transactions at corporate and asset level.

• Coordinate end-to-end M&A process.

• Prepare asset-related data analysis to support management's investment decisions.

• Maintain documentation of investment decisions.

• Identify and shortlist potential investment targets.

Periodic KPI Tracking

• Conduct periodic KPI tracking, including coordination with departments for input.

• Suggest improvements to the dashboard and analytical methodology to improve accuracy.

• Coordinate, receive and review periodic KPI reports from group companies.

Others

• Track progress of the Business Continuity Project and other ad-hoc process improvement / corporate-level initiatives.

• Provide guidance and support to Group companies and subsidiaries on ad-hoc analysis and harmonization projects.

Requirements:

• Has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance or similar specialization from a recognized/reputable university.

• Around 6 to 8 years of total experience in roles such as M&A, business planning, strategy, FP&A, valuations, or financial due diligence.

• Open to management consultants with relevant experience covering M&A, business planning, strategy. Also open to candidates with in-house strategy/corporate planning experience gained with MNCs/ large companies

• Has good financial modelling skills.

• Added experience preparing board meeting and CEO office deliverables is a plus (but not a must)

• Has a strong proficiency in the English language ( both verbal and written)

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong aptitude for structuring and cross-checking data (verbal and written).

• Comfortable working with senior management stakeholders across different business units.

• Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously across competing priorities and deadlines.

• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and MS Excel/PowerPoint.

• Strong cognitive assessment/abstract reasoning skills with strong critical thinking skills.

• Has strong communication and presentation skills
