Primary responsibilities:
Maintain and continuously improve the laboratory Quality Management System in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Act as the Management Representative for the laboratory and ensure the effective implementation of quality policies and procedures.
Specific responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the laboratory Quality Plan to ensure compliance with quality management requirements.
Compile, review, and maintain the Quality Assurance (QA) Manual and approve quality-related procedures and documentation.
Manage and coordinate quality surveillance activities, including internal audits, quality reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective action programs, in collaboration with the QHSE Manager.
Recommend, develop, and contribute to quality-related training programs to enhance staff competency and quality awareness.
Coordinate and facilitate all third-party quality assessments, audits, and accreditation activities.
Manage and respond to client quality assurance enquiries, requests, and correspondence.
Advise operational management on quality management systems, quality requirements, and compliance matters.
Represent the company at relevant trade, industry, standards, and professional association meetings on quality-related matters.
Provide guidance and support for new test method development and validation activities.
Undertake any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time.
Requirements:
Degree in Chemistry related field.
5 years quality assurance / management experience in handling gas/petrochemical products.
Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
Able to maintain highest quality standard all the time
Able to maintain good turn around time (TAT) and on time delivery (OTD)
Technical knowledge and experience in related field and in using quality management methods and tools
Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients
Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls
Works well under pressure, challenges status quo
Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
Proficient in statistical and analytical reporting
Knowledge of computing skills and able to generate graphs/charts
