Head of Compliance - Regional Wholesale Bank

A regional wholesale bank is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead its Compliance function in Singapore. This strategic leadership role will oversee the bank’s Regulatory Compliance and AML/CFT framework, provide advisory support to business stakeholders and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.

The incumbent will work closely with senior management, regulators, Head Office and regional teams to strengthen the bank’s compliance culture and governance framework while supporting its continued business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compliance function, covering Regulatory Compliance, AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime risk management.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments, monitoring programmes and governance frameworks.
• Advise senior management and business stakeholders on regulatory requirements, emerging developments and compliance risks.
• Manage regulatory engagements, inspections, examinations and submissions while ensuring the timely escalation of material compliance matters.
• Lead and develop the regional Compliance team while partnering with Head Office on audits, regulatory reviews, training and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of Compliance experience within Wholesale Banking or Corporate Banking.
• Strong hands-on expertise across Regulatory Compliance and AML/CFT, with sound knowledge of MAS and regional regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading regional Compliance teams and engaging directly with regulators and senior management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills; experience reviewing legal documentation would be advantageous.
