Senior Supply Chain Executive (Planner) - FMCG #HFT

Job Overview

The Senior Supply Chain Executive (Planner) will be responsible for driving accurate SKU forecasting and optimising inventory levels across international and regional markets. The role focuses on minimising stockouts and excess inventory while ensuring production capacity is effectively aligned with market demand.

You will work closely with international markets, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, production teams and external partners to consolidate demand, develop production plans and ensure efficient utilisation of production resources.

Key Responsibilities

Global Demand Planning

• Maintain the master global demand schedule to provide clear and long-term production visibility.
• Analyse historical sales data, seasonality and market trends to develop rolling 12-month demand forecasts.
• Consolidate, review and validate monthly sales forecasts from international market units and regional distributors.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to incorporate retail promotions, trade tenders and seasonal demand fluctuations into forecasts.
• Monitor forecast accuracy metrics, including MAPE and forecast bias.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on forecast variances and adjust forecasting models where required.

Master Production & Supply Planning

• Translate consolidated global demand into a Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Develop monthly production and packaging schedules for internal manufacturing facilities and co-packers based on demand requirements.
• Balance production runs to optimise factory efficiency and minimise line changeovers while meeting market delivery requirements.
• Manage safety stock allocations across regional hubs and reallocate inventory based on changes in market demand and supply requirements.
• Balance target inventory levels with product shelf-life considerations to minimise slow-moving inventory, obsolescence and write-offs.
• Lead or support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) alignment meetings to address demand and supply imbalances and mitigate stockout risks.

Material & Constraint Management

• Work closely with Procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials, including imported and locally sourced materials, aligns with production requirements.
• Incorporate manufacturing constraints such as seasonal raw material availability, planned plant maintenance and public holiday shutdowns into supply plans.
• Identify potential supply constraints and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve material and production planning issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, International Business or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on planning experience, preferably within the food, beverage, FMCG or other perishable goods sectors.
• Experience in demand planning, supply planning, production planning or inventory management.
• Experience supporting regional or international markets and distribution networks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems or supply chain planning software, such as SAP IBP, Oracle or equivalent systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret demand, inventory and supply data.
• Strong negotiation and collaboration skills when working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing demand patterns and supply constraints.
• Experience in S&OP processes and forecast accuracy analysis will be an advantage.
