As an Analyst in the Private Bank Credit Operations, you will work closely with Securities Based Lending (SBL) Lenders, Lending Advisors, and Credit Risk Executives to deliver excellent client service, facilitate loan origination, monitor credit risk exposures, and provide comprehensive credit solutions for clients of the Private Bank's Ultra High Net Worth market teams.
The Credit Platform Services Team is part of the Credit Operations group under my client's Asset & Wealth Management. This division, which manages $2.8 trillion in client assets, is a global leader in investment and wealth management.
Job Summary:
As an Analyst on the Credit Platform Services team, you are responsible for monitoring my client's Wealth Management exposures (including loans, mortgages, and derivatives) secured by financial assets, such as equities, fixed income products and other asset types. You are critical to protecting the bank from potential credit losses. Working closely with the Lending Advisors and Credit Risk Executive, you are also responsible for a wide range of functions such as administration and monitoring of Wealth Management Asia credit facilities in line with corporate credit policy, review & monitoring of credit covenants, transaction approval and other special monitoring requirements.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist SBL Lenders in underwriting all facilities secured by clients’ investment portfolios, including new requests, annual reviews, and monitoring of ongoing credit risk events such as margin calls, document credit exceptions, and unauthorized excesses in accordance with the Credit and Risk policies of the Private Bank.
- Analyze collateral pool and grade appropriately per credit policy, including ability to flag any credit exceptions or non-standard terms for review
- Handle credit documentation, including preparation, liaising with internal legal on documentation drafting, signature verification, scanning, and filing.
- Monitor and review the loan portfolio, regularize excesses (shortfalls) as per the Credit guidelines, regulations, credit policies, and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Credit Underwriting team, Credit Executives, and other stakeholders on exception handling for credit facilities extended to Asia Private Banking clients.
- Assist Lenders in pipeline management and other strategic initiatives.
- Explore and develop automation opportunities for existing reports using Intelligent Automation tools like Alteryx, Python, Unqork and UiPath.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or relevant disciplines
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in Credit Risk or Lending in a financial institution
- High-level analytical skills - able to use qualitative and quantitative tools to analyze complex financial situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail with good time management.
- Teamwork ethic and focus; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and understanding of risk measures.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Hands on knowledge of credit documentation preparation is a plus
- Knowledge and/or experience of KYC and cross-border regulatory issues.
- Good understanding of PB credit products, financial markets, and the securities industry.
- Proficiency in Tableau, Alteryx, Python would be a strong plus
