You would be part of Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE Singapore Branch which is in the process of establishing a banking presence in Singapore, subject to regulatory approval.

Team Description:

The Synthetic Products Group (SPG) provides financing, risk management and market access solutions to institutional clients. The team manages trading inventory and risk exposures while seeking to optimize profitability across funding, financing, rates and dividend markets.

Prime Funding Traders are responsible for managing risk and returns across a range of synthetic products, with a particular focus on funding and financing dynamics. The role sits at the intersection of markets, risk management and technology, requiring close collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Strats and Federation teams. This is a fast-paced and analytical environment where individuals are expected to make informed decisions, adapt to changing market conditions and contribute to the efficiency and performance of the franchise.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk across franchise books, with a particular focus on single stock synthetics.
• Develop a deep understanding of the drivers of profitability, including funding, financing, rates and dividend exposures.
• Monitor and manage inventory, funding and balance sheet usage to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
• Analyze market activity and pricing dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with Strats, Engineering and Federation teams to enhance pricing, execution, risk management and book optimization capabilities.
• Support the development and improvement of trading tools, infrastructure and processes.
• Develop an understanding of local market regulations and the legal frameworks underpinning the products traded.

• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment and decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to synthesize and evaluate large amounts of information efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and risk management discipline.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Quantitative background with strong technical and analytical capabilities.
• Interest in financial markets and market dynamics.
• Experience in trading, financing, derivatives, securities lending, prime services or related markets businesses.
• Understanding of market structure, funding markets and risk management concepts.
• Experience working with data analysis or quantitative tools such as Python, SQL or equivalent technologies.
• Familiarity with Asian markets and regional regulatory frameworks.
