YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in financial markets and trading to join the Synthetic Products Group (SPG). The successful candidate will work closely with traders, sales, engineering, and risk teams to deliver solutions for institutional clients while helping to manage risk and optimize returns across the synthetic trading business.

This role offers exposure to equities, equity swaps, CFDs, futures, ETFs, funding markets, and dividend trading. Analysts are empowered from an early stage to develop market expertise, contribute to trading decisions, and build the technical and commercial skills required to succeed on a dynamic trading floor.

You would be part of Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE Singapore Branch which is in the process of establishing a banking presence in Singapore, subject to regulatory approval.

At its core, Synthetic Products Group (SPG) helps provided solutions for our clients, manages firm risk whilst maximizing profitability for a given set of resources. We build strong relationships with our institutional clients - we help them buy and sell financial products on exchanges around the world, raise funding, and manage risk. We also manage our inventory and positions on the funding spread, rates and dividend curves to maximize returns. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for the markets, with individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments whilst making real time decisions.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

• Support the management of risk across synthetic trading books, with exposure to single-stock and index synthetic products.
• Develop an understanding of the key drivers of profitability, including funding, financing spreads, dividends, and market structure dynamics.
• Analyze market events, client activity, and trading opportunities to support decision-making and risk management.
• Partner closely with Sales, Strats, Engineering, Operations, and Federation teams to enhance pricing, execution, trade flow, and book optimization processes.
• Assist in monitoring positions, exposures, and market developments across Asia-Pacific markets.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and workflow improvements through data analysis and technology-driven solutions.
• Develop an understanding of local market regulations and the legal framework underlying the derivatives and financing products traded by the desk.
• Build strong relationships across the franchise and contribute to delivering differentiated solutions for clients.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic record.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, trading, and quantitative problem-solving.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to synthesize and evaluate large amounts of information in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Quantitative background in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Programming experience in Python or similar languages.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or experience in markets, trading, prime services, equity finance, derivatives, or quantitative roles.
• Understanding of equities market structure and derivative products.
• Familiarity with funding markets, financing products, or risk management concepts.
• Experience working with data analytics, automation, or quantitative modeling tools.
• Intellectual curiosity, commercial mindset, and a desire to learn in a trading environment.
