Job Purpose

The Executive Director – Investment Advisor is responsible for providing high-quality investment advisory services to clients and relationship managers. This role involves delivering tailored investment strategies aligned with clients’ financial objectives, risk profiles, and preferences, while ensuring ongoing portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and adherence to regulatory and fiduciary standards.

Key Responsibilities

(1) Investment Advisory & Strategy

  • Provide investment advice to clients and relationship managers on market conditions, investment products, and portfolio strategies.
  • Formulate tailored investment solutions aligned with clients’ financial objectives, risk profiles, and preferences.
  • Recommend suitable investment opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.

(2) Market Research& Analysis

  • Stay abreast of developments across global and regional markets, asset classes, and investment strategies.
  • Review and interpret relevant secondary research.
  • Conduct proprietary research and analysis to enhance risk-adjusted returns for client portfolios.
  • Develop, maintain, and update financial and analytical models as required.

(3) Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor client portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure alignment with agreed investment objectives.
  • Provide regular performance updates, insights, and recommendations to clients and relationship managers.

(4) Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal investment teams, including analysts and portfolio managers, to stay informed of portfolio positioning and market developments.
  • Participate in internal investment discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.

(5) Client Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Expand the client network through professional and social engagements.
  • Support business development initiatives by meeting with prospective investors as required.

(6) Governance, Ethics & Compliance

  • Avoid all conflicts of interest in relation to client portfolios.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all clients at all times.
  • Identify, disclose, and manage potential conflicts of interest in a clear and transparent manner, in accordance with the firm’s policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

Prior Work Experience

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in asset management, private banking, or a related investment advisory environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related discipline such as Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA) would be an advantage.

Domain Skills

  • Investment Expertise: Strong understanding of a wide range of investment products and asset classes, and how they can be applied to meet diverse client goals.
  • Client Advisory & Service: Ability to assess client needs and deliver investment solutions that balance both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Sound knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices to safeguard client interests and ensure proper decision-making.

Soft Skills

  • Strong networking abilities with experience in building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High standards of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail, with strong record-keeping practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
