Digital Media Content Producer
About this job
We are looking for a Digital Media Content Producer who is a creative storyteller with a passion for connecting with young people through digital content. In this role, you will manage the Brigade’s digital platforms, bringing our stories to life and playing a key role in shaping our online presence. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys finding and telling meaningful stories. You will be responsible to take ideas from concept to publication: identifying stories, developing creative concepts, storyboarding, filming, editing and publishing content across our digital platforms.
Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy & Storytelling
- Develop and maintain a content calendar and content themes across relevant social media platforms.
- Develop creative concepts and campaigns that support the Brigade’s objectives and identify opportunities to tell stories about our people, programmes, activities, impact and community.
- Research social media trends, formats and audience behaviour, and recommend relevant opportunities, platforms and approaches.
- Source stories and conduct interviews, photography and video shoots at events and activities.
2. Content Production & Publishing
- Develop storyboards, scripts and creative concepts, and produce engaging digital content including Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and other social media content.
- Edit video, photography and graphics, and create captions and supporting copy for publication.
- Repurpose existing content for different platforms and produce the Brigade’s quarterly newsletter.
- Manage the Brigade’s social media channels, publishing schedule and day-to-day content.
- Monitor engagement, comments, messages and social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
3. Volunteer Content Team
- Recruit, train, develop and coordinate volunteers supporting photography, videography, editing, graphic design, copywriting and social media.
- Match volunteers to suitable roles, provide creative direction and establish simple workflows, templates and guidelines.
- Coordinate volunteers for events and content projects, and develop a sustainable volunteer pipeline to support ongoing content production.
4. Collaboration & Communications
- Work with staff and volunteers across the Brigade to identify stories and content opportunities.
- Advise teams on how their activities can be communicated effectively through digital channels.
- Work with management to ensure content supports the Brigade’s wider communication and outreach objectives.
- Ensure published content is accurate, appropriate and consistent with the Brigade’s identity and values.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mass Communication, Media & Communications, Digital Media, Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, Visual Communication, Film/Video Production or a related discipline. Degree holders may also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging digital content through school projects, internships, freelance, volunteer or personal projects, supported by a portfolio.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content formats, trends and audience engagement, with experience producing short-form video content.
- Proficiency in video-editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or equivalent, and familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design tools.
- Basic knowledge of photography, lighting and audio recording.
- Experience managing social media accounts, content calendars or digital campaigns, with a basic understanding of social media analytics and performance measurement.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with a creative, curious and experimental approach to content creation.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines and take projects from concept to completion.
- Experience working with or coordinating volunteers, student groups, CCAs or project teams will be an advantage.
- Able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers, including some evenings and Saturdays when required.
