Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Manager, QHSE to support our cleaning operations across multiple client sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving quality, workplace safety, health and environmental standards across the business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and client expectations.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working closely with Operations, site teams and Clients, and who is able to translate QHSE requirements into practical measures that can be effectively implemented on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's QHSE management systems across cleaning operations and client sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Identify workplace hazards and operational risks, and work with Operations teams to implement appropriate control measures.
  • Support the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures and related QHSE documentation.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses and service quality issues, including conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor corrective actions arising from inspections, audits, incidents and client feedback, and ensure timely closure.
  • Provide QHSE guidance and support to Operations Managers, site supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, awareness sessions and relevant QHSE training for employees.
  • Support mobilisation of new cleaning contracts by ensuring that QHSE requirements, documentation and control measures are established before commencement of operations.
  • Work closely with site teams to improve cleaning quality standards, service delivery and workplace safety.
  • Maintain accurate QHSE records, statistics and reports, including incidents, audits, inspections and corrective actions.
  • Monitor QHSE performance and identify trends, recurring issues and areas for improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits, Client audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant management systems and certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, where applicable.
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture by encouraging employees to take ownership of workplace safety, service quality and environmental responsibilities.
  • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives, including responsible chemical usage, waste reduction and good environmental practices within cleaning operations.
  • Perform any other QHSE-related duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant Workplace Safety & Health qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant QHSE / WSH experience, preferably within the cleaning, facilities management, environmental services or service industry.
  • Good understanding of Singapore Workplace Safety & Health requirements and operational safety practices.
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems will be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting Client audits, internal audits or regulatory inspections would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage employees across different levels of the organisation.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and support functions.
  • Practical, hands-on and comfortable travelling between multiple operational sites.
  • Good report-writing, documentation and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage multiple priorities.
