Supply Chain Manager (China Sourcing & Construction Project Procurement) Live

About the role

Wellsmart Group develops and builds resort and residential projects in Australia (Lindeman Island, Queensland) and New Zealand (Queenstown). We need one person to own the entire supply chain for construction materials from China — from the first quotation to the last claim.

Key responsibilities

• Source construction materials in China (rebar, conduit, MEP, doors/windows, tiles, sanitaryware, hardware) against project BOQs and drawings

• Get at least three quotes, negotiate, and set contract and payment terms

• Chase every order to the end: samples, production, inspection, loading

• Book freight, prepare export/import documents and work with AU/NZ customs brokers — including the barge leg to Lindeman Island and the inland leg to Queenstown

• Plan deliveries with site managers and keep them informed

• Handle shortages, damage, warranty and late-delivery claims until they are closed

• Run supplier WeChat groups on the company account; confirm agreed numbers by email or PO the same day
  

About you

• 3–6 years in procurement or trade, with at least 2 years buying directly from China-based suppliers and exporting

• Construction, real estate or hotel project background — you have bought materials during the build or fit-out phase

• Fluent written and spoken Mandarin — required for daily factory negotiation

• Working knowledge of shipping documents and Incoterms

• Daily use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude or similar) in your work

• Bachelor's degree; based in Singapore; able to travel to China a few times a year
