Job Description Summary
The incumbent will play a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, mitigating risks, and promoting a culture of excellence and safety within the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety and Quality management systems, as well as regulatory requirements, to maintain high standards and minimise risks.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Serve as the registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary regulations.
- Fulfill the role of appointed Fire Safety Manager (FSM) under the Fire Safety Act and related regulations.
- Ensure that all Lines of Business comply with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations as well as fire safety statutory requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and facilitate continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems pursuant to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and audits, ensuring effective execution of control measures.
- Lead and support investigations into incidents and accidents, including root cause analysis and subsequent corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety management programmes, encompassing fire risk assessments, fire drills, and emergency response plans (ERP).
- Liaise with relevant authorities such as MOM, SCDF, and NEA regarding WSH and fire safety matters, including inspections, audits, and reporting.
- Plan, organise, and conduct monthly Workplace Safety and Health Committee meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and tracking action items to closure.
- Escalate safety concerns, non-compliances, and issues to management promptly, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are undertaken.
- Advocate for safety awareness and contribute to building a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related), Health and Safety, Ergonomics, or equivalent.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM Singapore.
- Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)
- A minimum of three years of relevant EHS/WSH experience is required, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in aviation MRO, aerospace, or other high-risk industries.
- Strong understanding of Singapore WSH regulations and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 management systems.
Reporting Relationship
- The incumbent reports to the Corporate Head Quality, Environment, Health & Safety.
