Wonderlit is seeking a dynamic and creative Speech & Drama and Communication Educator to support curriculum development and coach children and teenagers ages 3 to 16 in speaking and performance skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Research, source, plan and develop curriculum with creative content in line with Wonderlit’s teaching pedagogies and requirements.
- Plan and prepare weekly lessons to drive high-quality learning experiences, meeting set objectives.
- Coordinate review and feedback on the curriculum, and update lessons on a continuous basis to meet teaching objectives.
- Teach and deliver the curriculum in line with prescribed teaching materials, aids and pedagogy, and in ways that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning, cultivating a love for speaking the English Language.
- Prepare students for Trinity Performance Art (Speech & Drama) and Communication Skills examinations, and MOE oral examinations where appropriate.
- Monitor and provide progress reports and feedback to parents F2F and via mobile app periodically. Prepare class for bi-annual performance for parents.
- Perform any ad-hoc duties or responsibilities assigned (for full time teachers only).
- Maintain a high standard of work ethic, punctuality, good discipline and order.
- Be an ambassador for Wonderlit at all times with children, parents and other external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A recognized qualification in Theatre, Speech & Drama or Communication Skills, with qualification from Trinity College London or London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) preferred.
- Diploma or degree from NUS, LASALLE and NAFA and in early childhood education will be considered.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching speech and drama in enrichment centres or preschools. Training will be provided before teaching any classes in Wonderlit.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
- Good class management skills with children of all ages and background.
- Energetic, creative, enthusiastic, patient and enjoys teaching children in a fun and exciting manner.
- Willing to work 3 weekdays and both weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
